LifeEdited: For Homeowners
LifeEdited shows that you can live large in a small home or apartment. By applying smart concepts and technology, you can have a compelling, fulfilling life that allows you to live within your means financially and environmentally. Our sole focus is on space efficient green design. In industry terms, we are a specialty consultant. That means that we work with you and eventually with your architect. Our goal is to create a design that provides the lifestyle and functionality of a larger apartment/home but at a lower cost than something larger. All in a package that is greener and more social than most homes. You may have seen some of our work in the New York Times, Dwell, Fast Company, New Yorker, Fair Companies.
What are the characteristics of a good project to work together on?
A desire for more living & more functionality | Are you starting a family, but you don’t want to move? Do you need your apartment or home to simply do more? Are you intending to buy an apartment or home and save some money by buying small and then remodeling? |
Location | A city or neighborhood where it is prohibitively expensive to simply buy a larger apartment or home. For instance, we’ve worked on projects in New York City, Toronto, São Paulo, and Hawaii. |
How much do your services cost?
Scope of services | We scale our services to match the project. For some projects, we create basic CAD sketches and the architect takes it from there. On other projects, we provide very detailed CAD drawings that the architect can import. Potential tasks:
|
Budget: apartment | $10,000 – $40,000 US. As per above, we scale our services to match the need, particularly to match the level of detail needed. |
Budget: detached home | $15,000 – $60,000 US. As per above, we scale our services to match the need, particularly to match the level of detail needed. |
